Marty really looks mad in this picture and his memory explains why. Lyons was a member of the famed Sack Exchange that featured Mark Gastineau and Joe Klecko. Not all memories are good memories — but this one shows the intensity of the NFL game and season and how losing is not an option:

“It was a typical January day in Cleveland, cold, damp, and a strong breeze coming off the lake. What a game!! We were winning most of the afternoon until the 4th quarter. Mistakes and penalties on our part allowed Cleveland back in the game, tying the game in the 4th quarter. No score in the 1st overtime, and a field goal by Cleveland in the second overtime secured a victory for the Browns. A great comeback for the Browns, a disappointing loss for the Jets. Boy was it a long off-season after that game!!!”
