Willie Brown Raiders Memothentic Series I Super Bowl XI “THE DREAM”

Super Bowl XI was the first to be played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The half-time show was produced by Disney and it was based on “It’s A Small World”. It was the first half-time show to include crowd participation.

Here is Willie Brown’s memory of that game, and specifically, an interception he had a dream about the night before:

“This was a big play for us. Fran T. and the Vikings were in a hurry up offense. I told Ted (Hendricks) to stay inside and Jack Tatum to watch my back I had a feeling they, meaning the Vikings, wanted to try to throw a short pass and I just knew they would try to get the ball to Sammy White who also went to Grambling. So I just jumped in front of him and ran it back 75 yards for a TD. It is still a Super Bowl record.”"P.S. I had a dream about this INT the night before.”

Ted Hendricks Memothentic Series I “VICTORY” Super Bowl XV

In Super Bowl XV, the Oakland Raiders became the first team to avenge a regular-season loss in the Super Bowl. The Eagles defeated the Raiders 10-7 earlier that year.

This was Ted’s memory of the game:

“This was the end of a facsinating season. Philadelphia had beaten us in the regular season and was favored in Super Bowl XV. We had beaten Cleveland in sub-freezing temperatures and San Diego in balmy conditions. Elation, relief, team excellence, and pride in being World Champions are all rolled into my memories depicted in this shot.”

NOW ITS YOUR TURN! What are your memories from this Super Bowl victory?

Now you can own the autographed or unautographed version of “VICTORY” by Ted Hendricks!
