Barry Sanders LIONS Memothentic Series 1 “2000YDS”

Barry Sanders is still regarded as one of the most prolific running backs in the history of the NFL. Sanders is known for his on and off field humility. He was rarely seen celebrating on the feel and he never spiked the ball after a touchdown.

–Get the Barry Sanders Autographed Memothentic Limited To Only 97 Pieces Worldwide (almost sold out)

To this day, Barry Sanders is one of the most respected running backs in NFL history. 1997 was his best season in the NFL, although he gained only 53 yards on 25 carries in the first two mobile games of the season. He became only the third player in NFL history to rush for over 2000 yards, and the first since O.J. Simpson. That year he shared the NFL most valuable player award with Brett Favre.

Barry was always concerned more about his teammates than himself — you can tell by the memory he wrote of that night on December 21, 1997:

“The thing I remember most about that game was how much my lineman wanted me to get 2000yds, so I really wanted to get it for them. To actually break 2000 on a long run that sealed the game against the Jets and got us into the Playoffs made it very sweet. That was a special group of guys and I was proud to share that moment with them.”

One of the most memorable moments of Barry’s career is captured in one single piece of memorabilia. Barry’s hand written memory says it all — and now you have your chance to write your memory below of this event — and you could win this amazing piece of memorabilia.

Willie Brown Raiders Memothentic Series I Super Bowl XI “THE DREAM”

Super Bowl XI was the first to be played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The half-time show was produced by Disney and it was based on “It’s A Small World”. It was the first half-time show to include crowd participation.

Here is Willie Brown’s memory of that game, and specifically, an interception he had a dream about the night before:

“This was a big play for us. Fran T. and the Vikings were in a hurry up offense. I told Ted (Hendricks) to stay inside and Jack Tatum to watch my back I had a feeling they, meaning the Vikings, wanted to try to throw a short pass and I just knew they would try to get the ball to Sammy White who also went to Grambling. So I just jumped in front of him and ran it back 75 yards for a TD. It is still a Super Bowl record.”"P.S. I had a dream about this INT the night before.”

Roger Craig 49ers Memothentic Series I “SUPERMAN” Super XIX

in 1985 was almost a home game for the 49ers, since is just 30 miles away from San Francisco. The 49ers are considered to be the only team to have won the Super Bowl at home.

Here is Roger Craig’s Memory of this amazing 4th and 1 play:

“It was Super Bowl 19 and the Miami Dolphins had this high powered offense with Dan Marino at QB… During the regular season Dan broke a lot of NFL records, throwing over 5000 yds and over 46 TDs. All the experts had the Dolphins to crush the 49ers. I can remember what my teammate All-Pro linebacker Hacksaw Reynolds told me before the game, to play every play like it was going to be your last. This particular play was 4th and 1 and we needed a first down to keep the drive alive. The Dolphins defense did a good job plugging up the middle and I had to give up my body and dive over the top like Superman to get the first down and we scored on that same drive!”

From Super Bowl XIX at Stanford Stadium
January 20, 1985 Attendance 84,059
The Most Watched Game In History with an estimated 115.9 million viewers

Ted Hendricks Memothentic Series I “VICTORY” Super Bowl XV

In Super Bowl XV, the Oakland Raiders became the first team to avenge a regular-season loss in the Super Bowl. The Eagles defeated the Raiders 10-7 earlier that year.

This was Ted’s memory of the game:

“This was the end of a facsinating season. Philadelphia had beaten us in the regular season and was favored in Super Bowl XV. We had beaten Cleveland in sub-freezing temperatures and San Diego in balmy conditions. Elation, relief, team excellence, and pride in being World Champions are all rolled into my memories depicted in this shot.”

From Super Bowl XV at the Louisiana Superdome
January 25, 1981 Attendance 76,135 Oakland 27, Philadelphia 10

NOW ITS YOUR TURN! What are your memories from this Super Bowl victory?
