Arguably one of the best football movies ever made, Invincible, was based on the biggest hit of Vince Papale’s life.

What an honor it is to have this hit memorialized in Vince’s own writing:
“Imagine as a kid dreaming about playing for the team you bled green for! Then, after suffering as a season ticket holder for 10 years, you get a shot to play for your beloved team. Not only did I make the team, I made a play immortalized by the movie “Invincible”. This picture was taken following a big hit against the Giants… at the end of my first game as an Eagle at the Vet. I forced a turnover that sealed Dick Vermeil’s first win as an NFL head coach. In my elation, I ran to the nearest official and gave him the ball. It’s all about a celebration by the fans in the background. The official, my teammates (Dennis Franks, Richard Osborne, and Tommy Ehlers) and of course me! This picture represents simple joy, sharing it with others, and the innocence of a game that I feel today is sometimes lost.”
