Arguably one of the best football movies ever made, , was based on the biggest hit of Vince Papale’s life.

What an honor it is to have this hit memorialized in Vince’s own writing:

“Imagine as a kid dreaming about playing for the team you bled green for! Then, after suffering as a season ticket holder for 10 years, you get a shot to play for your beloved team. Not only did I make the team, I made a play immortalized by the movie “Invincible”. This picture was taken following a big hit against the Giants… at the end of my first game as an Eagle at the Vet. I forced a turnover that sealed first win as an head coach. In my elation, I ran to the nearest official and gave him the ball. It’s all about a celebration by the fans in the background. The official, my teammates (, , and ) and of course me! This picture represents simple joy, sharing it with others, and the innocence of a game that I feel today is sometimes lost.”

Now you can post your memories of this game or the movie for your chance to win!

This was one of the most inspiring movies of all time — I remember watching this hit at the end of the movie and getting chills. It was a big enough deal for Vince to make the team, but when he made a key hit like this it made me feel like I did when I watched Rocky for the first time. Great movie and a great memory from Vince!

Vince is an awesome man! I remember meeting him for the first time and just got chills everywhere! I just happen to be watching the games on Sundays with my Dad and saw Vince for the first time and never stopped watching the Eagles after until Vince stopped playing! I saw that hit at the game, if I remember right, I was alot younger too……
Well anyway! Invincible was awesome! And he is and always will be “INVINCIBLE” to me!
